Silk Naturals Haul

Happy Friday everyone!! Hope your excited for the weekend. I just received my second order from the company Silk Naturals. This is quickly becoming one of my new favorite beauty brands! I have a a nice growing collection of lip products and eyeshadows that I'm enjoying. I'll be doing full reviews on some of my favorite products in the coming week or so. Today I'm just doing a quick haul post to show you some of the awesome products I picked up for fall :)
My favorite part of the packaging is the hand written note! I received one in my last order as well and thought it was the perfect personal touch! You can tell Silk Naturals really cares about their customers.
I ordered two full size blushes and a perfecting glow powder. Both blushes are matte, the color Poppy is a warm coral, while Embrace is a beautiful matte plum. Splendid is the glow, it has a subtle golden hue to it with no big chunks of glitter (Score!)
Swatched above are Poppy, Embrace and Splendid. Not sure how well Spledid is showing up on my skin in the above photo as it's very subtle. I was hoping to use this as a cheekbone highlight and I think it will serve well as a very subtle highlight. The blushes have wonderful pigmentation, I'm digging on that plummy shade for fall!
I ordered three lip products and received a free lip balm! Silk Naturals offers a fabulous rewards program. Everytime you shop, you'll receive points to redeem for store credit after a certain amount of points earned. There is usually a special gift (changed weekly) to receive on orders over a certain amount, which is usually $10 or $15, mine happened to be this wonderful lip balm! It's not tinted but smells delicious and feels very light and moisturizing on the lips. The last perk of shopping online at Silk Naturals is you can choose a free FULL SIZE eyeshadow of your choice when placing orders over $35 including the shipping. I asked the company to surprise me with a shadow and I received Aztec, a beautiful light brown with a little bit of shimmer.
Above is a swatch of the eyeshadow "Aztec", it's a very light brown with a nice sheen and looks great as a subtle crease color.
Heavily swatched above are the lip products I chose. Rapturous, Bravado, and St. Tropez. Rapturous is described as a muted rose, it ended up looking more brown when I swatched it and I wasn't sure if I was going to like it. However, I patted it on my lips lightly to build up to the color I desired and I think it's beautiful on! Bravado is from the new collection for Fall 2013 and my favorite of the bunch! It's a stunning pink berry color that's not overly deep and I am SO excited to wear this during holiday season! St. Tropez is described as a nude pink and it's definitely a deeper nude with brown tones and slight pink undertones. I think it's very beautiful on the lips but not quite as pink as I had hoped for.
All in all I loved everything in my order and Silk Naturals hasn't let me down! Check out their site here to check out the products. There are so many colors to choose from and everything is super affordable. Enjoy your weekend!

Oh Sudz Foundation Review [Etsy]

Hey guys! Hope your having a great week. I had ordered a sample of the Oh Sudz natural liquid foundation and blemish cover up from their Etsy shop. The samples were $3.00 each, which is a little bit pricier than what I've paid for samples in the past, but there's plenty of product for many uses! I received my package in about a week and everything was packaged simply and professionally.
Foundation swatched heavily on the left, concealer swatched heavily on the right.
I decided to order only the "Light Warm" shade in both foundation and concealer, I figured that this would be a perfect color match based on the swatches from the website. The foundation shade was a little bit lighter than expected and I think I could easily pull off the "Medium" shade. The foundation has a very light runny consistency which makes it easier to smooth over your face, and once applied the shade seemed to match my neck really well. The first time I wore this I initially tried to apply with my beauty blender and it did not work out well!! The foundation just didn't want to blend into my skin with the dampened sponge and I had to go back over everything with a buffing brush to blend the streaks out. Today I blended it with just the buffing brush and seemed to have slightly better results. I like the coverage of this lightweight foundation, it really evens out my skin tone and covers the redness in my cheeks. However, when I look close up at my skin I can really see the foundation sitting on top of my face and it just doesn't seem to want to sink in to my drier than the desert skin. I think this product might work better for someone with normal or even oilier skin, I may just have to try again with super moisturized skin. The foundation is affordable at approximately $12.00 for one fluid ounce and can be found here.
I am quite enjoying the coverage of the blemish concealer, and I actually use it under my eyes as opposed to on blemishes :) It's just a tad lighter than my face for a perfect highlighting effect under my eye area. I find it blends best when tapped into the skin using my ring finger, the heat from the skin on skin contact really helps it melt into my skin. The only downside of this to me is that it is rather hard and not as creamy as I would like upon first touch. I believe the full size concealer is approximately between $10-12 and can be found here.
I think these are wonderful handmade products with natural "good for your skin" ingredients, I'm just not sure how compatible they are with my specific skin. At this time I'm still undecided on whether I will be purchasing the full sizes of these...luckily for me I still have a few uses left from my samples :)

Thanks for tuning in for this quick review! Tell me, what is your go to foundation/concealer?

The All Natural Face Cosmetics Review

Hi guys! About two months ago I found a groupon for The All Natural Face where I paid $15.00 for $30.00 to spend on their website. This deemed to be the perfect opportunity to test out some products I had been lusting after for weeks.

I decided to purchase the vegan "magic" eyeshadow primer, two cream blushes, tinted lip balm, and a small cream foundation pot. The two loose pigment eyeshadows pictured above were received as part of a monthly subscription service the company offers on their website.
Cream Blush Swatches- Peachy Rose (left) and Barbie (right)
I've heard nothing but rave reviews regarding the cream blushes offered by TANF, and I was certainly not disappointed! I chose the colors Barbie and Peachy Rose. Both of these are extremely smooth,  creamy and wear like a dream. I like to use my finger to pat the product onto the apple of my cheek and use a damp beauty blender to blend into my skin for a flawless finish. Peachy Rose definitely has more peach/brown tones to it with a slight hint of pink which makes it a perfect for those natural "no makeup" makeup days. Barbie is a great cool toned pink shade that can be worn very subtle for a slight pink glow but I like to build it up a little bit for a brighter pop of pink. These products are sold as multi-use cheek and lip colors, however I found them to be a little drying to wear on my lips and keep them strictly to use as blush. I have found that these tend to start fading on my face after about five hours of wear, of course these can be topped off with powder blush or translucent powder to extend the wear time! The 27 different shades are available here for $5.75 each.
Vegan "Magic" Eyeshadow Primer- Left (heavily swatched) Right (slightly blended out)
I am so in love with this primer! A total winner for me and a definite repurchase. You receive .43oz in a cylindrical tube with a doe foot applicator, similar to classic lip gloss packaging. I love that this primer comes with a wand because I find that it is so much easier to apply on my eyelid. TANF website states that this is comparable to Urban Decay Primer Potion which I was currently using when this was purchased. I find TANF version to have a slightly tackier finish than UDPP which helps my shadows really stick to my lids (especially loose mineral pigments). I do notice my eyeshadow will begin to fade after about seven hours of wear with this primer underneath, but that happens to be the norm with my eyes and any primer. Bonus points for the "magic" primer because I never experience that dreaded creasing with this! Available on theallnaturalface.com for $7.00
Vegan Just Kissed Tinted Lip Balm in Blush Pink- Top (four to five swipes) Bottom (two swipes)
As you can tell by the swatches above this is a classic tinted lip balm with a light tint that can be built up to a brighter pink. I really love this lip balm and find myself reaching for it much more than I had anticipated. However, for a lip balm I find that this isn't the most moisturizing on my lips and will accentuate any dry/flaky patches I have. It wears much better with a regular lip balm underneath which will help it glide on smoother. It's just enough color on my lips for everyday wear, think your lips but better :) Available on theallnaturalface.com for $4.03
Cream Foundation Pot, Light Beige Warm, 10 gram pot.
Cream Foundation- Left (heavily swatched) Right (blended out)
I'm constantly on the hunt for new foundation, it has to be one of my favorite cosmetic items to test out. This cream foundation is very affordable at just $6.50 for the 10 gram pot (which I think will last quite a long time!) and $12.45 for the 20 gram pot. I decided to make an educated guess on which of the 51 foundation shades would match my skintone, although you do have the choice of ordering a sample of every foundation shade in your range for about $5. The color I chose was Light Beige Warm and as you can see it is a very light shade. If your extremely fair skinned I think you would have no problem finding a match from TANF. The color I chose matches my neck pretty well, but can make me look washed out if I don't apply contour and blush to bring some color back to my face. I think next time I will try out a color from the medium beige series. The foundation itself is in solid form but becomes extra creamy and delightful once warmed up on your skin. I will use a small spatula to remove some foundation, place it on the back of my hand/warm it up with my finger, apply streaks to my face and lightly blend with my fingertips. I always get the best result when I fully blend this product in with a damp beauty blender sponge. The coverage is pretty light and basically evens out my skintone without feeling like a heavy mask. I do still need concealer under my eyes when wearing this. I like the natural finish this leaves on my dry skin, yet it seems to take about an hour to fully sink in and not look like I'm wearing makeup. I give this a solid 3 out of 5 stars.
TANF Eyeshadow. Top Left French Vanilla (w/o primer) Top Right French Vanilla (w/ "Magic" primer). Bottom Left Honey Pot (w/o primer) Bottom Right Honey Pot (w/ "Magic" primer).
Way back in June of this year I noticed that TANF had a monthly beauty box similar to Birchbox, except it was a box of only products from The All Natural Face. For $15.00 I thought this would be a great opportunity to try out some of their products. I received a lot of their skincare products which will be reviewed soon :) These two eyeshadows were included and at first glance I wasn't too impressed. They've been neglected in my eyeshadow drawer since. I recently started playing with them and found that French Vanilla is the perfect brow bone highlight, applied lightly and blended well it looks very subtle and natural. As you can see above Honey Pot is very sheer upon application without primer underneath, but paired with the "Magic" eyeshadow primer it becomes a gorgeous shimmery golden bronze! A perfect lid color! The texture is soft and very finely milled and I have no problem applying them to my eye with a brush. The shadows run $3.50 for a 5 gram jar and $6.50 for a 10 gram jar.

All in all I was very happy with my purchase from TANF. Most of the products offered are vegan, the ingredients are great and everything is very affordable; think drug store pricing.  I definitely recommend trying some of the products whether you are trying to use more natural cosmetics or you just feel like buying some new makeup ;) You can purchase several different sample packs without committing to full size products, available here.

Have any of you tried products from The All Natural Face? What did you think?
